Starting your yoga journey is an exciting, scary and amazing adventure. What yoga course is "right" for you? What if you're not "experienced" enough? Who are the other students and will you fit in? Is there some kind of qualification required before taking a course?
A Foundations Course is the ideal way to start the journey of yoga training. Whether you’ve done three yoga classes or three years, you will fit in. The Foundation Course addresses all the basics of yoga, including pose names, why and how teachers adjust students, as well as the central tenets of yogic philosophy and history. If you’re curious about what else there is to yoga, this is the course for you
Do I Qualify for a Foundations Course?
Everyone, yes, everyone is qualified for a Foundations Course. It doesn't matter if you aren't flexible. It doesn't matter if you've gone to only two yoga classes. What matters is that you feel the pull of yoga; that a little voice inside you is saying "go further, take the next step." This is the next step.
Your Teacher’s Direction
One of the most important aspects of this course is one-on-one time with our teaching faculty to address your personal practice, as well as their recommendation for your next step. In the yoga tradition, "receiving" poses from your teacher, as well as their advice on when to move on, is an integral part of yoga lineage. We replicate that tradition by providing feedback on what might be best for you and your practice.
Becoming a yoga teacher...
If you are considering becoming a yoga teacher, even if it's just a pipe-dream right now, then the Foundations Course is a brilliant place to start. You will learn what it looks and feels like to practice yoga with a focused direction. For many people, this course resonates deeply with a growing love for yoga, and they finish the course feeling refreshed, revived and ready for more!
There are loads of yoga teacher training schools throughout London. Each school has it’s own philosophy, set of teachers, and style of yoga. YogaLondon is recognised as one of the foremost leaders in yoga teacher training schools because training yoga teachers is our sole focus. Instead of daily yoga classes, or offering several different styles of yoga, we have spent years fine-tuning what we believe is the best yoga education available. We think of YogaLondon as a yoga university. We believe in taking people from the basics (Foundations Course) to a 200-hour course (Teacher Training Course) and then guiding yogis to 500-hour training (Advanced Courses) as well as offering niche training such as the Pregnancy Teacher Training course. In addition, we offer weekend workshops to experienced yogis and 200-hour teachers in highly specialised areas.
Do I call or register online or send smoke signals?
Let’s skip the smoke signals because they may be mistaken for smog. Instead, simply call the number below or click on the “Register for this course” button. You’ll fill out basic information, your Medical History, and then five short questions that will help us understand you and your practice. Welcome to the next step!
At YogaLondon, we believe in-person training is best.
As a vocational teacher training school operating in covid-secure venues, we remain open and continue to deliver our professional training in person, up to and including in tier 4 restrictions.
And if you can’t attend a class, our Live Stream feature is available to you. This new learning option enables our students to participate remotely whenever necessary, ensuring they have full control over their training environment.
