Rachel’s energetic and bubbly energy beams out of her like rays of sunlight. Within minutes, she’ll either make a joke or laugh out loud, making you feel as though you’ve been friends with her for ages. In her teaching, she makes otherworldly concepts seem as simple as a grain of rice and all that’s needed is to simmer. Her previous life as a dancer means that she can manipulate herself into any pose, and yet she confidently explains and laughs about poses that took her forever to master.
Rachel’s “fling” with yoga turned into a dedicated self-practice when her Dad unexpectedly passed away in 2010. She found herself hitting the mat hard during this time, turning inward and discovering an inner stillness that provided answers to the questions she was asking in life. Her depth of spirituality becomes readily apparent the longer you converse with her.
Though she had toyed with the idea of doing a TTC for years, it was only after her Dad passed that she realised it’s either now or never. She was drawn to the YogaLondon mantra of training original, self-made teachers, not cookie-cutter teachers. Hers was one of YogaLondon’s first Teacher Training Courses and she still keeps in touch with some of her 15 classmates from that course.
Nowadays, she can be found teaching at The Well Garden, Mudra Yoga and Down To Earth. She is a course leader for our 200-hour trainings in London and we’re honored to have her.
