It’s a relatively well-known fact that one of the founding Yoga texts, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, doesn’t mention much about asana. In fact, the only reference the sutras make to physical postures rather plainly states the importance of sitting comfortably.1 This might seem at odds with the plethora of physical variations of yoga now readily available. Being a parent is exhausting – no two ways about it.
If you’re the parent of under twos it is physically relentless. You are weightlifting little humans all day long, never quite getting enough sleep, and trying to fit in everything that you did before in order to prove that ‘being a parent’ hasn’t changed you. This phase won’t last long, as self-preservation kicks in and you stop going to all but the easiest social occasions. (more…)
